Profetik: Jurnal Komunikasi is an open access, peer-reviewed, and accredited scientific journal published by the Department of Communication Studies, Faculty of Social and Humanities, State Islamic University (UIN) Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta, Indonesia. This journal focuses on disseminating the latest research findings in various fields of contemporary communication, with a particular emphasis on rapidly evolving topics in global communication studies.
Profetik: Jurnal Komunikasi published biannually in April and October by Communication Science Department, State Islamic University (UIN) Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta. The journal has been accredited with a level of “Sinta 2” based on The Director General of Research and Development of the Indonesian Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education for 2022-2027 (SK Kemenristekdikti No. 152/ E/KPT/2023). Since 2021, all articles have been published in English. Submissions are open year-round. Before submitting, please ensure that the manuscript is in accordance with Profetik: Jurnal Komunikasi focus and scope, written in English, All articles must adhere to the journal's guidelines and be submitted in English. This journal accepts articles related to current communication issues, both theoretical and applied.
Scope and Academic Focus:
Islamic Media Studies: Analyzing the role of media in shaping religious and social discourse within an Islamic context, both locally and globally.
Communication Theory and Applications: Research on various communication theories and their applications in the digital age and contemporary media technology.
Digital Communication and New Media: Studies on the impact of digital technology and new media on communication patterns, including social media, online communication apps, and technological innovations in communication.
This journal adopts a communication paradigm focused on humanization (amar ma'ruf), liberation (nahi munkar), and transcendence (tuminna billah). This paradigm seeks to explore the potential of communication to educate society through spiritual and social values that can bring about positive social change.
Objectives and Contributions:
Profetik: Journal of Communication aims to make a significant contribution to the development of communication theory and provide new insights into the application of communication in various fields. This journal not only aims to develop communication theory but also to provide applied analysis of social and cultural dynamics.
