Abstract

The basis of this research is a minimum of research on marine life in Nguyahan Beach, especially at the Echinoidea class.
Echinoidea is an animal that very important role in the environment as an indicator of sea water pollution. This research discus about
morphology and anatomy of the species Heterocentrotus trigonarius and Tripneustes ventricosus from Nguyahan Beach, Gunungkidul.
This research using qualitative method by descriptive type, presenting pictures and descriptions. Discussion of the species
Heterocentrotus trigonarius and Tripneustes ventricosus includes classification, morphology and anatomy. The special characteristics
of Echinoidea class are the presence of Aristotle's lantern as an organ alimentary canal and gonads as an organ reproductive.
