About the Journal

Sunan Kalijaga International Journal on Islamic Educational Research (SKIJIER), ISSN 2580‑3212 (Online) and 2580‑3204 (Print), is a peer-reviewed open-access journal published by the Graduate Program of the Faculty of Tarbiyah and Education, Universitas Islam Negeri Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta. The journal publishes original research and critical studies in Islamic education that contribute to the advancement of theory and practice at local, national, and international levels. The journal welcomes manuscripts addressing Islamic education curriculum, philosophy, leadership, policy, and educational development. It places particular emphasis on the integration of Islamic values in character education, the application of digital and communication technologies in teaching and learning, and the innovation of instructional materials grounded in Islamic principles. Furthermore, SKIJIER encourages interdisciplinary approaches by incorporating perspectives from the humanities and social sciences, including educational sociology, anthropology, Islamic law, and economic literacy within educational settings. Studies that explore Islamic perspectives on family education, conflict resolution, effective communication in Islamic institutions, and contemporary educational leadership are especially welcome. All submitted manuscripts must demonstrate scholarly rigor, employ systematic and reproducible methodologies, and adhere to the highest standards of academic ethics. The journal aims to foster meaningful scholarly dialogue and advance knowledge in the global academic community of Islamic education.
